Released in 1993, "Apgujeong-dong," a drama set in Apgujeong, Seoul, in the early 1990s, centers on the romance between Young-hoon, an aspiring film director, and his beloved muse, Hye-jin. Uhm Jung-hwa made her acting debut as the heroine Hye-jin, portrayed as an object of admiration. Her character symbolizes a young person's desire for high society and a desire to live in a glamorous world. Contrary to Young-hoon's pure feelings, Hye-jin's actions in pursuit of a better life reflect the trends of the time. Uhm Jung-hwa, who was also popular as an idol singer, brought color to the film with her fresh, clear acting and fashion sense, making her a muse of the era. This work vividly depicts the dreams, setbacks, and fleeting love of young people.
